Motherhood

Proverbs 31:25-29 - "She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her; Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all."
Isaiah 66:13 - "As a mother comforts her child, so I will comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem."
Proverbs 22:6 - "Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it."
Psalm 127:3 - "Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him."

Motherhood...
One of the most amazing stages of life but it can also be the most lonely at times. Have you ever felt like that? You wake up to sweet voices who need you instantly. You're making the pancakes and eggs, filling the cups, changing the diapers, cleaning messes all before 8 or 9am. It's exhausting. But also, so beautiful. Think about this...
Your babies literally think you hung the moon. They don't care what you look like, they only want YOU! Your attention, your hugs and kisses, you "I love you's." They want you more than any other person. You are their comfort, their safe space! In those hard moments, when we feel like we have no one else around, JESUS is our comfort. He will never leave us. As I have grown closer to The Lord, It's become easy for me to wake up early before my babies (it works for me but maybe not for everyone) to enjoy a HOT cup of coffee, open my bible, pray and write. I need to prepare my heart fully for my days. I need Jesus to be at the center of everything in order for me to be the best mama I can be!

We don't stop...
Moms/dads are super heroes. If you don't think you are, then think again! You were mean't to be a mom/dad and take care of your babies. No one is better fit to love, raise, and take care of your kids better than YOU! Don't forget that! Children are a gift from The Lord. God completely entrusted you to raise babies to know HIM. It's your job to pour into them, teach them, and help them grow! (I could be talking to a mom, dad, aunt, uncle, grandparent) but you are IMPORTANT in your children's life.
At times I know we all wake up, get ready, make your lists, unload the dishwasher, switch the laundry over, clean up a spilled drink...repeat... cook lunch, clean another mess, repeat...then we realize that it's dinner time/bedtime and we still haven't sat down. The Lord gives us strength that we can't comprehend. Our strength fully comes from Jesus.

Our household...
I don't know about you but my home is not always spotless and that's okay! I've had to tell myself in this stage of life (4 kids under 8) but I won't have it all together all the time. God created us for a bigger purpose than to be an image of perfection. We aren't called to be perfect but to strive to be more like Jesus every day. And praise the Lord he still shows up time and time again for us! Through the messy moments, the over stimulated moments, and just ALL the moments, God is always there!
I pray in this moment that you know how great of a mother you are. You were made for these long days that go by so quickly. You were made to be the heart of your home and be the comfort for your children! Take each moment as a blessing, soaking in all the piles of laundry, early mornings, and late nights!
They are worth it!!!
Thank you Lord for Motherhood
Lord, thank you for who you are! We fail you daily yet you show up time and time again. You are our comfort whenever we need you. Lord, I pray for all the friends who are reading this that first, if they don't know you, they lean in to who you are and find their worth is in you. Thank you for the gift of children. may we always know in every season, they are a treasure and you set us in each moment for a reason. I pray we know how loved we are by the one who created us, YOU!
We love you, Amen!
